RND to station permanent security guard at ferry ramp in state capital
Panaji: In the aftermath of the incident in which a car was parked at the Panaji ferry during low tide and submerged due to high tide, river navigation department (RND) is set to deploy a permanent security guard at Panaji’s ferry ramp within one month. This was confirmed by RND Director Vikramsinh Rajebhosale. “These are usually vehicles parked by electricity department’s staff (whose office is opposite the Panaji jetty) and by tourists driving rental vehicles,” he said.

“The jetty does not have a security guard to stop them, taking advantage of which these people park their vehicles at the jetty at night. We will employ a permanent security guard through a reputed agency within 1 month to man the jetty,” he said.
