Afghan held for travelling on forged Indian passport
Vasco: Dabolim airport police arrested on Sunday an Afghan for travelling on a forged Indian passport.Police said a wing in charge of the bureau of immigration at Goa International Airport, Dabolim, Shanigaram Sriharsha, filed a complaint that Iwraj Hiro, an Afghan, presently residing in Delhi, was caught while travelling on a forged Indian passport and identifying himself as Anil Shukla, a native of Delhi.He was also found in possession of Afghan passport. During the course of investigation, it was revealed that the accused travelled in and out of India multiple times in 2009, and had renewed his Afghanistan passport outside of India and entered again into India on Jan 2, 2016.The authorities disclosed that the accused was previously holding a fraudulently obtained Indian passport, identifying himself as Suresh Ahuja.He travelled to Goa via Bahrain from Russia.The accused has been booked under provisions of BNS, Passport Act and Citizenship Act.
