Thangam Thennarasu rebuts Keerthana’s charge on Tamil Nadu’s debt
Chennai: Former finance minister Thangam Thennarasu on Sunday rebutted state industries minister S Keerthana's allegation that the previous DMK rule had "washed away" 10.5 lakh crore, accusing her of making claims without understanding Tamil Nadu's financial administration. In a post on X, Thangam Thennarasu said the minister was trying to create a "false narrative" against DMK through social media and misleading people on the state's fiscal management. Referring to Keerthana's remarks on the previous govt's handling of finances, he said her comments reflected "inexperience". "Making up figures and confusing people due to lack of experience in governance only exposes her immaturity."The former finance minister also questioned whether finance minister K A Sengottaiyan and finance secretary M A Siddique, both experienced in financial administration, would intervene to "rein in the industries minister's imaginary claims" or continue to support what he described as a campaign based on "lies and fiction".
