Man killed, 5 injured in Hisar poll clash; BJP man arrested
Hisar: A BJP functionary was arrested for allegedly killing a youth and injuring five others during a clash amid municipal election campaigning in Hisar district's Uklana on Monday night.A police complaint filed by Mukesh Kumar, one of the injured, says he and his associates confronted Pradeep alias Sonu, who joined the BJP on May 2, near a confectionery shop over allegations that Pradeep had been harassing their friends. An argument escalated, and Pradeep allegedly opened fire with a pistol. Shubham of Bhana village was shot in the chest and died on the spot. Five others sustained gunshot wounds. They are admitted to a private hospital. Police have registered a case of murder and attempt to murder. Pradeep was apprehended by a special investigation team formed by SP Siddhant Jain. "The accused is being interrogated, and efforts are underway to recover the weapon," a police spokesperson said.
