Chandigarh: An electrician was found dead in the forest area of Sector 38 on Sunday morning. He had been missing since Saturday noon. Police have not found any suicide note at the crime scene and they suspect that he overdosed on drugs. The exact cause of death will be revealed after the postmortem.
The deceased, Manish Kashyap, 25, worked as an electrician in Shimla and was to get married soon. His family members said he left home on Saturday saying he was going for a haircut, but never returned. Family members kept calling him repeatedly, but could not get through. They claimed that the body bore marks of injury on the head and that police did not let them examine the body closely.
A few children saw the body in the morning and raised an alarm. Passersby gathered on the spot and informed the police. Thereafter, a police team arrived and placed the body in the GMSH mortuary. The victim's family claimed that Manish left home carrying around Rs 8000 cash, which was missing.
