Father, 2 sons get life term in 4-year-old Fatehabad murder case
Hisar: A local court has sentenced a father and his two sons to life imprisonment in a four-year-old murder case of Yogesh Goswami in Fatehabad's Ramniwas Mohalla. District and sessions judge Deepak Agarwal also imposed a fine of Rs 16,500 each on the convicts.District attorney Devendra Mittal said on May 23, 2022, Vinod and his sons, Arun and Gulshan, entered into a quarrel with Goswami's nephew Siddharth when he was returning home from the market. Later, Goswami, accompanied by his wife Poonam and Siddharth, went to the accused's house to lodge a protest. However, the accused attacked the family with sticks and sharp-edged weapons on the street. During the assault, Goswami sustained multiple injuries and collapsed on the spot. Poonam and Siddharth also suffered injuries in the attack.Hearing the commotion, local residents rushed to the spot, following which the accused fled. The injured were taken to the Civil Hospital, where doctors declared Yogesh dead.On May 24, 2002, Naveen Kumar, brother of the deceased, filed a complaint with the police.During the trial, one of the accused, Dhannat — mother of Vinod — died, following which proceedings against her were abated.After examining witness testimonies, medical evidence and police records, the court held the three accused guilty and awarded them life imprisonment.MSID:: 131015038 413 |
