Fatehabad police arrest 4 with heroin, poppy husk, Alprazolam tablets
Hisar: In a major crackdown on narcotics smuggling, Fatehabad police have arrested four drug traffickers in separate operations and seized 1.5 kg of heroin — worth over Rs 3 crore in the international market, 54.1 kg of poppy husk, and 1,275 banned Alprazolam tablets. Addressing the media, DSP Kulwant Singh said a CIA Fatehabad team, led by SI Vedpal, acted on a tip-off and raided an under-construction house near Shanti Niketan School in Balaji Colony, Bhuna. During the operation, police arrested Nanha, a resident of Badsikri village in Kaithal district, and recovered 1.5 kg of heroin, along with a motorcycle allegedly used in drug trafficking. During preliminary interrogation, the accused reportedly confessed to procuring heroin from outside the state and supplying it in the Bhuna area. Police investigations further revealed that five criminal cases, including those under the NDPS Act and Prison Act, are registered against the accused. In another operation, CIA Fatehabad police laid a naka near Bhundwas village in the Ratia area and arrested Hetram, a resident of Mahamra village, with 54.1 kg of poppy husk. Police said the accused has five NDPS Act cases registered against him in Haryana and Punjab. Meanwhile, CIA Tohana police arrested Kuldeep, a resident of Punjab, and recovered 1,200 banned Alprazolam tablets from his possession. Officials said five criminal cases are pending against him in Punjab. In a separate action, Fatehabad city police arrested Vijay Singh, a resident of Gurunanakpura Colony, at a naka on NH-9 Bypass Ratia Road and seized 75 banned Alprazolam tablets. Police said Vijay also has a case registered against him under the NDPS Act.
