Sonipat: The district administration on Monday finalised arrangements for counting of votes for the Sonipat municipal corporation elections, scheduled to begin at 8am on May 13 at BITS College, Mohana.
The second randomisation process for counting staff was conducted under the supervision of district election officer and deputy commissioner Neha Singh. Officials said counting supervisors and assistants were deployed through randomisation to ensure transparency.
According to the administration, 20 counting tables have been set up for the mayoral election and 15 for councillor vote counting. A separate table has also been designated for VVPAT verification.
Training sessions for counting personnel were held at the mini secretariat, where staff were briefed on EVM handling, counting procedures and safety protocols.
Neha Singh directed all counting staff to report at the centre by 6 am and instructed them not to carry electronic gadgets inside the premises. Another round of training will be conducted at BITS College on May 12, officials said.
