Swachh Survekshan: City at No. 7 in citizen feedback through QR scan
Bhubaneswar: The city has ranked seventh in citizen feedback submission through QR scanning for Swachh Survekshan (cleanliness survey), 2026, even as it failed to figure in top 10, in terms of feedback obtained through the Swachhata app, revealed the data compiled so far.
The cut-off for citizen feedback collection and submission is May-end. The citizen feedback data is made public in four stages, although its final result will come with that of the Swachh survey after May, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials said.
In Swachhata app-based citizen feedback, Indore has taken the top spot, with Patna securing the second rank, while in QR scan-based feedback submission, Visakhapatnam has ranked first, followed by Ahmedabad.
Under the feedback exercise, Swachhata supervisors, sanitary inspectors, ward officers and other sanitation staff visit households across the city carrying QR codes. Residents are being asked to scan the code, which will generate a link leading to a feedback page containing 13 questions on different aspects of sanitation and cleanliness.
Of the 13 questions, the first four relate to door-to-door waste collection. The next four focus on visible cleanliness in localities. Two questions deal with maintenance of public toilets, while the remaining three are linked to grievance redressal mechanisms.
The civic body is aiming for a sharp rise in citizen participation this year. In the previous edition of the survey, the BMC generated 1.38 lakh feedback. This year, it has set a target of five lakh responses.
