Dengue awareness drive held in Bengaluru
Bengaluru: On the occasion of National Dengue Day, Bengaluru East City Corporation conducted a dengue awareness programme at BMTC Central Workshop–02 in Dooravani Nagar.
Organised by the Krishnarajapura urban primary health centre, the programme saw over 100 workshop staff in attendance. Health educators explained dengue symptoms, treatment, and prevention, stressing the need to avoid water stagnation and curb mosquito breeding.
Senior health inspector Gururaj highlighted the role of public cooperation in controlling the spread of dengue. A live larva demonstration by senior health inspector Shrishaila Kannaal helped staff understand the mosquito life cycle and identify breeding spots.
An intensive larval survey was also carried out across the workshop premises, including inspection of water storage units, tyres, and waste materials. Larvicidal solution was sprayed in affected areas.
