Man beaten to death by woman’s kin in Fatehpur

Prayagraj: A 35-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death by three persons when he went to meet a married woman at Bhadiyapur village under the limits of Malwa police station of Fatehpur district.Initially, police were informed that villagers had severely assaulted the victim after catching him red-handed while stealing a buffalo. However, the investigation revealed that the victim, a resident of Bitaura, had gone to meet a married woman in Badhaiyapur — whom he knew well — where her husband and family members caught him and assaulted him around Sunday midnight.The injured was rushed to the district hospital, Fatehpur, where he succumbed to his injuries early Monday.The deceased’s brother has lodged a named FIR with Malwa police station against three persons, who have been taken into custody.
