Agra: An administrative probe was ordered on Tuesday after the family of a deceased UP Police head constable from Panwari village in Kiraoli tehsil protested at the collectorate, demanding action in a land dispute case.Constable Kunj Bihari died of a brain stroke during election duty in Jhansi district of UP in May 2024. His 65-year-old mother, Pista Devi, lay down in front of DM Manish Bansal’s car on Monday afternoon, pleading for help. Other family members also gathered around the vehicle, saying they feared for their lives. Devi said that her husband, Harikishan, is paralysed and on ventilator support. The family said they have been struggling for the past 18 months to protect their farmland, alleging that some villagers have illegally taken over their land and are threatening them with guns. They also accused a local revenue official of helping the accused by submitting an incorrect report. After hearing their complaint, DM Bansal took immediate cognizance of the land dispute and ordered an inquiry.“A team has been formed under the chairmanship of the concerned SDM, which will conduct a thorough on-site investigation, and effective action will be taken,” said the DM, adding that “land demarcation will be carried out in the presence of police.”
