Stepping up protest against the Centre’s paddy procurement policy, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Monday led a dharna in the National Capital organised by his party, and warned the Narendra Modi Government to respond within 24 hours if it will buy the grain from the state. Telangana chief minister termed Modi government at the Centre as `Conspiracy government not a democratic government' (Shadyantra Sarkar not Jantrant Sarkar) and demanded the Centre to come up with an integrated agriculture policy for farmers. The CM gave 24 hours ultimatum to the Centre to spell out their stand whether they are going to procure Paddy from Telangana farmers or not and later the government would decide future course of action. He warned that the TRS won't leave the BJP and continue the fight. The CM addressed a well attended dharna programme 'Telangana Demands Uniform Paddy Procurement' in Delhi on Monday. The dharna was organized to press the demand of Telangana to procure entire Paddy from the state on the lines of Punjab state. Ministers, TRS MLAs, MLCs and MPs along with farmers organizations representatives like Rythu Bandhu Samithi from state participated. "Farmers are not seeking alms from the government, it is their right to get minimum support price and benefits. If the Centre comes up with a new integrated agriculture policy, the TRS will support the government or else they (people) will be replaced with the new government which will implement the new agriculture policy," KCR said. The TRS supremo said the Centre talks big and for procuring Paddy from a small state like Telangana, Modi does not have 'dhan nahi or mann nahi' to come to the rescue of the farming community. "You (Modi) want votes and seats from Telangana, but not resolve the woes of farmers," the CM said.
