17-year-old girl gangraped by 4 in Uttarakhand, all arrested

ROORKEE: Four men have been arrested by Bhagwanpur police in Haridwar district for allegedly gang-raping a 17-year-old girl on Thursday. All the accused are locals, in their mid-20s.According to police, one of the accused was known to the survivor and studied together.Inspector Rajiv Raunthan, in-charge of Bhagwanpur thana, said the girl's father approached them on March 16 to register his complaint of gang rape of his daughter by four men."One of the accused is a resident of the girl's village. He gained her trust and called her to a location, where he and his associates spiked her drink with an intoxicating substance before sexually assaulting her," the inspector said.
