Iran has claimed a major escalation in its conflict with Israel, announcing that it has shot down two advanced Israeli drones over its territory while launching a large-scale retaliatory strike. According to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), an Israeli Orbiter drone was intercepted over Tehran, followed by the downing of a Hermes UAV in Alborz province. Iranian officials say both drones were armed and neutralized before they could strike. In a separate incident, Iran claims it intercepted a cruise missile over Qazvin province, highlighting its expanding air defence capabilities. But the response did not stop there. The IRGC says it launched strikes on 80 Israeli targets across key locations including Tel Aviv’s surrounding areas, Rishon LeZion, Ramla, Eilat, Ramat Gan, Bnei Brak, and Holon. Watch
