Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has warned that the ongoing West Asia conflict is disrupting global oil supply and pushing prices higher. He said the war has impacted oil production and exports, reducing availability in the market despite measures like easing sanctions on Russian and Iranian oil. Tharoor noted that the crisis is not limited to India but is affecting economies worldwide, as rising oil prices have a cascading impact on all sectors. As one of the world’s largest oil consumers, India will continue sourcing oil from wherever possible to meet demand, he added, highlighting the seriousness of the situation.
