I want to play a psychopath: Ridhima Pandit on her dream role

TV actress Ridhima Pandit, who debuted on Indian television with Bahu Hamari Rajnikant, is still remembered for her role of a robot

in the show. The actress was recently in Jaipur for a family wedding. Recalling her debut role, she shared, “That was an iconic character and I was lucky to portray a humanoid robot, and that too in my first show. Even today, people fondly remember me through that character, which gave me an identity as an actor. That’s why it remains my favourite even today.”

'I want to play a psychopath'

On the work front, Ridhima is busy with web shows. Last seen in Ufff… Yeh Love Hai Mushkil, she played the antagonist. “I always aspire to play different roles —characters who are much younger or older than me. Such roles challenge you as an actor, giving you the opportunity to experiment, explore your skills, and hone your craft. Negative roles, in particular, allow you to showcase your versatility. So why not? In fact, I enjoyed playing the antagonist. I still remember how Kajol’s performance in Gupt earned her rave reviews. Similarly, people appreciated me in a negative role too. Now I want to play a psychopath. I know it sounds unusual, but I want to experiment as an actor and test my own skills.”

Enjoying the cold weather, the actress soaked in the warm sun, relished Jaipur’s delicacies, and spent time chit-chatting with friends at the celebrations. “Jaipur has been one of my favourite places to visit. But travelling to the city during winter has so many advantages. I loved basking in the sun, did some shopping, and participated in the wedding festivities,” she says. Ridhima further adds, “Jaipur is a city that welcomes everyone with an open heart. What I like the most about Jaipur is that it’s a perfect blend of royalty and modernity. Also, Mumbai mein hamesha ek jaisa climate hota hai, so when you get to visit a place like Jaipur, it gives you a fresh feel. I’m loving the cold weather here.”
