After back-to-back wins on
Bigg Boss and MasterChef India Gaurav Khanna is now stepping into the high-risk world of Khatron Ke Khiladi. The actor admits the move wasn’t something he had planned. “I never thought I’d do Khatron Ke Khiladi in the first place. But I knew that I had to do it once in my life. I never planned that it would happen immediately after Bigg Boss. But when it came, I was like, let’s do it,” he says.
For Gaurav, risk-taking isn’t just part of the game — it’s a pattern that has shaped his journey. “I have always faced my fears and taken risks. Coming to Mumbai with no plan and becoming an actor without any godfather was a risk I took. I’m very connected to my roots, and that’s what keeps me going in life,” he shares.

At the same time, he is aware of the challenges the show brings. He says, “It’s a game full of stunts, full of your inherent fears, which you have to overcome. I think I’m going to be my biggest competitor, because the mind is going to play with me first. If I can control my mind, that’s half the battle won. I have normal inhibitions, but that’s the fun —you step out of your comfort zone.”
The actor also credits Faizal Shaikh (aka Faizu) for nudging him towards reality television. “He told me during MasterChef that I should do Bigg Boss and Khatron Ke Khiladi. He felt I could do it even before these shows came to me. So I’m looking forward to this journey. I’m not looking at who the other contenders are — my main contender is my mind,” says Gaurav.
