Prakriti Nautiyal, who has been appreciated for her performances in shows like Barrister Babu, Pavitra Rishta, and others, is currently seen in the newly launched show, Shehzadi Hai Tu Dil Ki. This year, Christmas looks a little different for the actress as she is shooting in Hyderabad and away from home. While she does miss being with her family, Prakriti says she’s trying to enjoy the festive season in her own simple way.
Having Christmas with Prakriti has its flip sides, but she chooses to dwell more on things that keep her afloat and less on things she is missing. When asked about things that keep her motivated even at this time of the year, she responds: "I am absolutely loving shooting in Hyderabad. Even though I’m away from home, work keeps me energized and inspired. Being a workaholic, I thrive on staying busy, creating, and giving my best every single day. The city’s vibe and constant hustle make every shoot feel exciting and fulfilling.”
Throwback to 2024's Christmas: Celebs Celebration And Cozy Vibes
Even with a packed shooting schedule, the actress believes festivals are about finding happiness in small moments. She reveals that she and her team have planned a low-key celebration to keep the Christmas mood alive.
“We’ll be baking cookies at home and then enjoying a little feast on the sets. Once we’re back home, we’ve planned a cozy Christmas dinner, followed by a movie to end the day on a warm and happy note,” she shares.
Like most people, Christmas also brings back fond childhood memories for Prakriti. One particular tradition continues to stay close to her heart. Reminiscing about her growing-up years, she recalls, “When I was young, I always hung a red sock, and my mother would fill it with surprises. I never knew that my Santa was actually my mom. Years later, she told me the truth, yet those moments remain beautiful, and I still miss that innocent joy.”
For Prakriti, food plays an important role in any celebration, and Christmas is no different. The actress admits that indulging in festive treats is something she truly looks forward to. Sharing her favourites, she says, “My favourite part of Christmas is all about food and indulgence. I would never skip pies, rich fruit cake, creamy lasagna, flavourful biryani, and classic Christmas pudding. And of course, not to forget the warm, comforting cheer of cider that completes the celebration”
While work has kept her busy this festive season, Prakriti does have a dream holiday in mind. Talking about where she would love to travel if she got a break, she shares, “I would love to travel to Prague for Christmas. Prague is a perfect Christmas destination because it feels like a real-life fairy tale in winter. Snow clings to the old Gothic buildings, lights sparkle everywhere, and the Old Town Square fills up with Christmas markets that smell like mulled wine. It’s pretty hard to find a place that feels more festive than this.
Prakriti is spending Christmas far from home this year, but she’s still finding pockets of joywork, little celebrations, and good memories. That’s what keeps the holiday spirit alive for her.
