Abrar Qazi’s show to be titled Pavitra Rishta
Abrar Qazi
We had earlier reported that Abrar Qazi has been finalised to play the male lead in Siddharttha Vankar’s upcoming television show, a love story produced by Aman Sachdeva. We also reported that Doree 2 actor Priyanshi Yadav will play the female lead, while Pallavi Pradhan and Roopa Divetia will be seen in pivotal roles. We have now learnt that the show has been titled Pavitra Rishta. The title holds significance as the original series first aired in 2009 and starred Ankita Lokhande and the late Sushant Singh Rajput as the lead pair. A second season of the show, featuring Shaheer Sheikh opposite Ankita Lokhande, was later made for a streaming platform. A source associated with the show shares, “The casting is largely in place, and we are set to begin shooting in January. As scheduled, the show is expected to go on air in February. The title Pavitra Rishta suits the storyline and carries forward the legacy. The team is focused on doing justice to the name.” In a previous chat with us, Abrar, who made his acting debut with the film Laila Majnu, spoke about his decision to venture into television. He shared, “Laila Majnu did not help my career at the time, but after it was re-released last year, people appreciated my work. I have been getting good film offers for the past year, but whenever you audition for films or web projects, it becomes a matter of patience. You have to wait until you get shortlisted, and even after months of waiting to be finalised, sometimes things still don’t work out. In the meantime, you lose out on good projects in other mediums. TV is a mass medium and it is lucrative. The content might need improvement, but I want to continue doing TV shows along with web series and films.”
