The Union Ministry of Home Affairs has prematurely retired AV Prem Nath, a Danics officer, from service due to a criminal case against him for allegedly molesting a minor. The ministry exercised its powers to require Prem Nath's retirement in public interest. Prem Nath, who was suspended in October last year, has a total of five FIRs registered against him, including one for amassing properties disproportionate to his income.
