Rapper Drake lost $300,000 after Carlos Alcaraz defeated Jannik Sinner in the US Open men’s singles final at Flushing Meadows.Drake had posted on Instagram that he wagered $300,000 on Sinner to win the 2025 US Open after the Italian beat Alexander Bublik in the round of 16.

The rapper is known for placing big bets on sporting events.This is not the first time Drake has gambled on the tournament, having unsuccessfully backed Taylor Fritz to win in 2024.
During the 2024 Copa América, he lost another $300,000 when Canada fell to Argentina in the semi-finals — a bet that would have paid nearly $2.9 million.

Alcaraz defeated Sinner in four sets on Sunday to win the US Open and reassert his dominance in an era-defining rivalry, in a final delayed by the visit of President Donald Trump.The 22-year-old Alcaraz won 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 to capture his second US Open crown and sixth Grand Slam title, avenging his lone defeat in a major final to Sinner at Wimbledon in July.
