HYDERABAD: It's official now. Shuttlers
Chetan Anand and
Jwala Gutta are back to single status after they were granted divorce by a family court on Wednesday.
The couple married six years ago (July 17, 2005), parted ways last year following rumours that Jwala was hitched up, first with former Indian cricket captain
Mohammad Azharuddin and later his son.
Jwala, who is the Commonwealth Games gold medalist in women's doubles, and Azharuddin, a Congress MP from Moradabad, have vehemently denied these link-ups and blamed former president of Badminton Association of India, VK Verma, for spreading the canards.
Azharuddin had planned to contest against Verma in the BAI electionsand that apparently prompted Verma to launch the diatribe.
Confirmingthe development to TOI, Chetan said badminton is his only priority now. "It wasnot easy but I have moved on with life."
