Sanjay Mishra, known for his roles in Vadh , the Golmaal franchise and more, took on a different challenge about a year ago. The actor decided to be part of
Vijay Tendulkar’s iconic play Ghashiram Kotwal , which was brought back to the stage in Hindi by director
Abhijit Panse. After a recent performance of the play in Pune at MIT-WPU's Dadasaheb Phalke International Film school studio inaguration , the actor told us,
“Vijay Tendulkar’s contribution to Indian theatre is extremely noteworthy. For me to be part of one of his creations is a big thing. In fact, it’s something that will make any actor proud. We’ve staged the play in different cities, including Delhi, and everywhere the response was overwhelming.”

Mishra says that he agreed on doing this because he feels he can pull off the role today.
“However, if someone had asked me 20 years ago to do something like this, I’d have said no. Playing Nana Phadnavis’ role on stage is no mean feat. It requires a lot of hard work and experience,” said Mishra, who features alongside actor Santosh Juvekar in the play.
