Thiruvarur election results 2026: DMK holds ground as Kalaivanan Poondi K wins

In a closely watched constituency in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections 2026, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) candidate K. Kalaivanan Poondi K secured victory, defeating his nearest rival from Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) by a margin of 18,148 votes. Kalaivanan polled 75,260 votes, consolidating a comfortable lead as counting progressed. Karunanidhi won the seat with 1,09,011 votes, defeating AIADMK’s M. Rajendran, who secured 58,762 votes. The margin of victory stood at 50,249 votes.
