In Palasbari, Himangshu Shekhar Baishya of BJP secured a decisive victory, polling 1,09,301 votes and defeating AJP’s Pankaj Lochan Goswami by a margin of 43,953 votes. Independent candidate Jayanta Mahanta finished a distant third with 3,111 votes, as the constituency delivered a clear mandate in favour of BJP.

BJP's Hemanga Thakuria won in 2021 with 68,311 votes (52per cent share) and a margin of 39,670 over Assam Jatiya Parishad's Pankaj Lochan Goswami (28,641 votes); INC's Jatin Mali got 27,320 votes. Pranab Kalita (BJP) triumphed in 2016 with 75,210 votes (62per cent share).
The seat has strong voter turnout, with BJP securing high shares amid NDA dominance. It features a mix of urbanizing rural voters along key highways.
