NEW DELHI: In Mayureswar, BJP’s Dudh Kumar Mondal registered a decisive win, polling 1,07,056 votes and defeating Trinamool Congress candidate
Abhijit Roy by a margin of 21,002 votes. Mondal maintained a clear lead across counting rounds, signalling strong support in the constituency. Roy secured 86,054 votes but finished well behind in second place.
Mayureswar is a assembly constituency located in West Bengal’s Birbhum district. It is one of the seven assembly segments that fall under the Bolpur Lok Sabha constituency.

All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) is the sitting MLA from Mayureswar. He won the seat in the 2021 assembly election by securing 50.36% of the total votes polled. He was followed by the
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Shyamapada Mandal, who received 44.31% of the votes.
Trinamool again fielded Roy in the recently held assembly polls, while the BJP nominated Dudh Kumar Mondal.
Roy has also represented the constituency earlier, having won the seat in 2016 as an AITC candidate. Earlier, the constituency was won by Asok Ray of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM) in 2011.
The election history shows that Mayureswar has seen changes in political representation over the years, reflecting electoral competition and shifting voter preferences in the constituency.
