Kamarhati election results 2026: TMC’s Madan Mitra Defeats BJP’s Arup Choudhury by 5,646 Votes

Madan Mitra of the All India Trinamool Congress defeats Arup Choudhury (Pulak) of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Kamarhati, winning by a margin of 5,646 votes after all 11 rounds of counting.Kamarhati is a general category constituency in North 24 Parganas, part of the Dum Dum Lok Sabha seat. It is a densely populated industrial urban area covering Kamarhati Municipality, with a strong working-class voter base. In 2026, sitting TMC MLA Madan Mitra — a colourful and prominent TMC figure — seeks re-election against BJP's Arup Choudhury.In 2021, Madan Mitra won with 73,845 votes, defeating BJP's Anindya Banerjee by 35,408 votes and securing 51 per cent of the vote. In 2016, TMC also held the seat.
