Gujarat woman found dead in Jammu hotel basement

JAMMU: A 21-year-old married woman from Gujarat’s Surat district was found dead under suspicious circumstances in the basement of an under-construction hotel in Jammu’s Satwari area on Monday. Police launched a probe.“The deceased, Kiran Kumari, was a native of Haldhru in Kamrej, Surat. She was found unresponsive on the basement floor of the under-construction building belonging to a private hotel near Jammu airport. A police team rushed her to Jammu GMCH, where doctors declared her dead,” a police officer said.The body was sent for a post-mortem to establish the cause of death. “A case was registered under relevant sections of the law. Labourers and security personnel engaged at the construction site are being questioned for leads,” the officer said.J&K Police were coordinating with their counterparts in Gujarat to contact the victim’s family.
