Haflong (ST) Assembly constituency in Assam is located in Dima Hasao district and remains an important Scheduled Tribe reserved seat in Assam's political landscape. The constituency went to polls on April 9 as part of the state's single-phase election.
In the 2021 assembly elections, the seat was won by the BJP. The party's candidate, Nandita Garlosa, secured 67,797 votes to defeat Congress leader Nirmal Langthasa, who polled 49,199 votes.
In the 2026 contest, both major parties fielded prominent candidates. The BJP nominated Rupali Langthasa, while the Congress fielded Nandita Gorlosa, the sitting MLA. Gorlosa switched from the BJP to Congress just before the assembly election nomination deadline after being denied a BJP ticket for the Haflong seat.
