Galsi election results 2026: Raju Patra of BJP wins against Alok Kumar Majhi of AITC

Raju Patra of the Bharatiya Janata Party won the Galsi (SC) Assembly Constituency No. 274, defeating Alok Kumar Majhi of the All India Trinamool Congress.Galsi is an assembly constituency reserved for Scheduled Caste candidates and is located in West Bengal’s Purba Bardhaman district. It is one of the seven Assembly segments that fall under the Bardhaman–Durgapur Lok Sabha constituency.At present, Nepal Ghorui of the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) is the sitting MLA from Galsi. He won the seat in the 2021 assembly election by securing 49.21% of the total votes polled. He was followed by Bikash Bishwas of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), who received 40.55% of the votes.Earlier, the constituency was won by Trinamool's Alok Kumar Majhi in 2016. In 2011, Sunil Kumar Mondal of the All India Forward Bloc (AIFB) had secured victory in the seat.The election history shows that Galsi has seen changes in political representation over the years, reflecting competitive electoral dynamics and shifting voter preferences in the constituency.
