Dubrajpur constituency assembly election results 2026: BJP’s Anup Kumar Saha wins over TMC's Naresh Chandra Bauri

NEW DELHI: In Dubrajpur, BJP’s Anup Kumar Saha delivered a strong performance, securing 1,17,437 votes to defeat Trinamool Congress candidate Naresh Chandra Bauri by a margin of 27,647 votes. Saha maintained a commanding lead across rounds of counting, underscoring solid backing in the constituency. Bauri, who polled 89,790 votes, finished well behind in second place.

Dubrajpur is a Scheduled Caste assembly constituency located in West Bengal’s Birbhum district. It is one of the seven assembly segments that fall under the Birbhum Lok Sabha constituency.

At present, Anup Kumar Saha of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is the sitting MLA from Dubrajpur. He won the seat in the 2021 Assembly election by securing 47.94% of the total votes polled. He was followed by the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) candidate, who received 46.06% of the votes.

Saha was again fielded by the BJP in the recently held assembly polls, while the ruling Trinamool Congress gave ticket to Debabrata Saha.

Earlier, the constituency was won by Chandra Naresh Bauri of AITC in 2016. In 2011, Bijoy Bagdi of the All India Forward Bloc (AIFB) had secured victory in the seat.

The election record shows that Dubrajpur (SC) has witnessed changes in political representation over the years, reflecting close contests and shifting voter preferences in the constituency.
