The announcement came shortly after the New England Journal of Medicine published results from the first stage of Moderna's vaccine trial, which showed the first 45 participants all developed antibodies to the virus. There will be a 16-day complete lockdown starting July 16 in Bihar due to a surge in Covid-19 cases, with the total number crossing 18,000. Lockdown 6.0 will cover all urban areas and rural block headquarters. There will be relaxations for agricultural activities.

Bihar is now testing as many as 10,000 Covid-19 samples in a day to combat the coronavirus pandemic, State Health Minister Mangal Pandey said on Tuesday.
