Bilawal told a press conference here that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government led by Khan has put the lives of people in danger by lowering the COVID-19 testing capacity. "They make a mockery of themselves by claiming that the graph of coronavirus cases is going down in the country," he said. Since March, Pakistan has reported 2,50,066 positive COVID-19 cases and 5,366 deaths due to the disease, but also claims that 1,70,656 patients have recovered.

Coronavirus has potential to be as serious as 1918 Spanish Flu, says US top infectious disease specialist Anthony Fauci.
Fauci, on Tuesday said that coronavirus a pandemic of "historic proportions" has the potential to be as serious as the 1918 Spanish Flu in which over 50 million people globally died. "I think we can't deny that fact," CNN quoted Fauci as saying. "If you look at the magnitude of the 1918 pandemic where anywhere from 50 to 75 to 100 million people globally died, that was the mother of all pandemics and truly historic. I hope we don't even approach that with this, but it does have the makings of, the possibility of ... approaching that in seriousness."

A 62-year-old man was diagnosed with stones in the gallbladder in the first week of April. Because of the Covid outbreak, instead of visiting a hospital he decided to consult a doctor online and take medicines for the pain. Three weeks later, he was wheeled into the emergency of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital with a perforated gallbladder — a life-threatening complication. This is not a stray case. City hospitals say many suffering from non-Covid problems are delaying hospital visits and ending up at the emergency.
