NEW DELHI: A 62-year-old man was diagnosed with stones in the gallbladder in the first week of April. Because of the Covid outbreak, instead of visiting a hospital he decided to consult a doctor online and take medicines for the pain. Three weeks later, he was wheeled into the emergency of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital with a perforated gallbladder — a life-threatening complication.
This is not a stray case. City hospitals say many suffering from non-Covid problems are delaying hospital visits and ending up at the emergency.
