Amdanga is a general category constituency in North 24 Parganas, part of the Barrackpore Lok Sabha seat. It covers Amdanga community development block and nearby gram panchayats, with a predominantly rural population of around 71 per cent. In 2026, TMC has fielded Peerzada Kasem Siddiqui against BJP's Arindam Dey.
In 2021, TMC's Abdul Rahim won with around 93,000 votes, defeating BJP's Joydeb Manna by 25,480 votes. In 2016, the CPI(M) had dominated the seat for seven consecutive terms from 1977 to 2006, before TMC gradually established its hold.
