Roshan Meka and
Anaswara Rajan starrer period sports action drama film ‘Champion’ hit the big screens during the Christmas release window. The film is enjoying a decent run at the box office despite heavy competition in the theatres.
According to trade analyst Sacnilk, the film on its release day on Thursday made over Rs 2.75 crore. It then later saw a drop and made over Rs 1.5 crore on Friday and yesterday it collected Rs 1.75 crore. The film’s total after three days comes to Rs 6 crore.

‘Champion’ also had a decent occupancy in the theatre, with the overall occupancy at 26.38 %. During the morning, the occupancy was recorded at 15.68%. Later, the film saw an increase as it recorded 26.66% and increased a little to 29.20% in the evening. Lastly, during the night shows, it recorded 33.97%.

Pradeep Advaitham, the film tells the story of the character Michael B Williams, who is seen as a talented footballer and wants to play for Manchester in England. However, coming from Secundrabad, the journey is not an easy one. He finds himself entangled in arms smuggling and ends up in Bhairanpally village, resisting Razakar atrocities. There he falls in for Chandrakala, played by Anaswara Rajan.
The movie also features Avantika Vandanapu and Edward Sonnenblick in key roles. The music of ‘Champion’ is composed by Mickey J Meyer.

The movie received positive to mixed reviews upon its release. Internet users on X (formerly Twitter) shared that apprciated for Roshan Meka’s strong screen presence. They say he is very good in the second half, interval block, and climax. However, some also mentioned that the writing is weak.
