Amit Trivedi to mark Kannada debut as composer with Dhananjaya’s next

Bollywood composer Amit Trivedi, who is known for his work in films like Queen, Dear Zindagi and Udta Punjab, has been roped in to score music for Dhananjaya’s upcoming film, Uttarakaanda, a source from the production team, says. Envisioned as a two-part saga set in North Karnataka, the movie has Dhananjaya playing Gabru Satya and also stars Shivarajkumar.

“The music for the film’s promo and Dhananjaya’s character teaser were composed by Charan Raj; and now Amit is set to compose the music. The movie marks Amit’s debut in the Kannada film industry,” confirms our source.
“We are trying to create a very raw and rustic world through Uttarakaanda. This story has a very native Indian emotion and Amit’s music will weave a story by itself and reach across India,” say the makers.

In the South, Amit has previously composed one song for Malayalam movie, Antiponvettam, in 2008, and for two Telugu films - Chiranjeevi’s Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy and Nani’s V. Uttarakaanda is currently in production and the team - Dhananjaya, and filmmakers Rohit Padaki and Karthik Gowda - recently visited a temple in Dharwad to seek blessings. “The movie is set to go on floors on April 15,” adds the team.
