The 2021 election saw M Jagan Moorthy (AIADMK) secure a victory with 84,579 votes (48.6% vote share), defeating K Seetharaman (DMK), who polled 73,997 votes. The victory margin was 10,582 votes. In the 2016 election, the seat was won by G. Loganathan (AIADMK), who polled 75,612 votes, defeating the DMK’s V. Amalu by 9,746 votes.
