Rajahmundry: Madakam Mude, a native of Sukma district in Chhattisgarh and a member of the supply team of the 32nd Platoon, Indravathi Area Committee, Maad Division, North Sub-Zonal Bureau (NSZB) of CPI (Maoist), surrendered before Pankaj Kumar Meena, additional superintendent of police (Ops), Alluri Sitarama Raju district, at Yetapaka on Sunday.
Madakam Mude joined the Maoists in January 2020 as a Dala Sadassi in Konta area committee. She was later transferred to the Maad Division by Vetti Mangudu, DVCM, in June 2021 as a party member. She was allotted a single-shot weapon and continued in the supply team of the 32nd Platoon, Indravathi Area Committee, Maad Division, until now. In 2021, during TCOC operations in Sukma district, Chhattisgarh, she was involved in an attack on security forces, which resulted in the deaths of 31 security personnel and three Maoists.

Disillusioned with Maoist ideology, discrimination against tribals within the party, declining public trust, and increased police presence in Maoist strongholds, along with the establishment of new police camps, prompted her surrender.
On behalf of Amit Bardar, SP of ASR district and in-charge of Polavaram district, Pankaj Kumar Meena encouraged Maoists to utilise government welfare schemes and development opportunities. He assured that all concessions and benefits for surrendered Maoists would be processed promptly.
