Two flights diverted due to thunderstorms in Vizag

Visakhapatnam: Heavy thunderstorms on Tuesday night affected flight operations at Visakhapatnam International Airport, as two flights were diverted to Bhubaneswar and Rajahmundry. According to the Airport director, two flights—including an Air India Express service from Bangalore to Vizag—were diverted to Bhubaneswar, while an IndiGo flight from Hyderabad to Vizag was diverted to Rajahmundry. The Bangalore–Vizag flight, scheduled to arrive at Vizag at 4.30 pm, was diverted to Bhubaneswar and eventually reached Vizag at 9.15 pm. The Hyderabad–Vizag IndiGo flight, scheduled to arrive at 6.40 pm, was diverted to Rajahmundry and reached Vizag at 8.40 pm.
