‘Forgive me, Maa…’: 20-year-old youth ends life in Gorakhpur
Gorakhpur: A 20-year-old youth was found dead inside his rented accomodation at Bhatta Colony in Jungle Dhushan here on Friday night. The deceased has been identified as Uday Tripathi of Pipraich area. Police said that the body, which was found hanging from a cloth tied to a ventilator, had decomposed and appeared to be about five days old.Tripathi, who earned his livelihood by performing religious rituals at temples and houses, left behind a suicide note addressed to his mother. In the note, he apologised for not living up to his parents' expectations and expressed a wish to be born again as her son to fulfil her dreams. He also asked her to take care of his siblings. The matter came to light when a foul smell began emanating from the room, prompting the landlord to alert the police. Along with the note, Tripathi's Aadhaar card was recovered. Later, a forensic team reached and collected the evidence from the spot. Locals claimed that vehicles without number plates were often seen near the house, raising suspicion. SHO Purushottam Anand Singh said that Tripathi's family, currently based in Mumbai, have been informed and are on their way. Police suspect financial stress as the reason behind the extreme step.
