Vadodara: An eight-year-old boy in Anand district died after his throat was slit by kite string during Uttarayan festivities on Wednesday. At least four others suffered similar injuries in the district.
Dhaval Parmar was sitting in front of his father Kishan Parmar on his motorcycle. They live in Badalpur village in Borsad taluka and was going to Ralaj.

A kite string across the road got caught under Dhaval's chin throat and slit his throat. He was taken to a hospital in Khambhat, where he died.
At least four others were injured in Anand district due to glass-coated kite string. These included two persons who suffered throat injuries but survived. Two others suffered cuts to other parts of their faces from kite string.
In Panchmahal district, one person was injured in Halol town due to kite string, while another was injured in Godhra. In Dahod district, one person was injured in the Garbada taluka.
