40-yr-old man held for attacking youth

T'puram: Fort police on Thursday arrested a 40-year-old man for allegedly attacking a youth with a beer bottle after the latter questioned him for using obscene language in public at Muttathara.The accused was identified as Sunil of Muttathara. The incident occurred around 5pm on Tuesday. According to police, the accused allegedly created nuisance in the area by using abusive and obscene language.When the complainant objected to his behaviour and asked him to stop using foul language, the accused allegedly turned violent. In a fit of rage, he picked up a beer bottle and struck the youth on the head, causing injuries. The victim reportedly sustained bleeding injuries and was rushed to hospital.Following the incident, Fort police registered a case and launched an investigation. The accused was later taken into custody. Police said evidence collected during the probe, including witness statements, confirmed the assault.The accused was produced before the court and remanded in judicial custody. TNN
