Two arrested in Khunti district gang rape of 17-year-old tribal girl

Ranchi: Two persons were arrested in connection with the gang rape of a 17-year-old tribal girl in Khunti district on Friday, police said.The arrested accused — Aman Lakra and Sura Barla — were nabbed within four hours of the registration of the FIR.Police said that the survivor was returning home when the accused offered to drop her home. Aman, however, took the girl to a forest and raped her. He also called Sura to the spot who threatened the girl to come along with him to his house where he locked her up and raped her repeatedly at night.The girl escaped after another member of the family unlocked the doors on Saturday. Her parents then lodged a complaint with the local police about the incident on the same day.
