Chatra: Renowned mountaineer and cyclist
Sameera Khan from Andhra Pradesh, who is on an all-India cycling expedition to promote girl empowerment, visited Hunterganj block in Chatra on Friday and interacted with students at the Project Girls’ High School campus.
She was welcomed by the school principal Vivek Kumar Singh, along with teachers Anil Kumar Akela, Beena Kumari, Saniya Parveen, Renuka Sahni. Trainee teachers from Lala Pritam BEd College were also present during the interaction.
Addressing students and trainee teachers, Khan shared her life experiences and spoke at length on women empowerment, self-reliance, and the importance of confidence, particularly for girls from rural backgrounds. She urged students to recognise their inner strengths, become self-dependent, and pursue their dreams fearlessly. "Girls are not meant for marriages. I want to tell each and every parent to give them the opportunity to fulfil their dreams," she said.
