Gumla: President Droupadi Murmu will attend the valedictory session of “Antar-Rajiye Jansanskritik Samagam Mahotsav - Kartik Jatra”, a two-day interstate cultural festival comprising artists from Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Odisha, in Manjhatoli in Gumla district on December 30.
Besides Murmu, who will be the chief guest, Jharkhand governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar and Chhattisgarh governor Ramen Dekha. Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren, Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sao and Union tribal affairs minister Jual Oram will also attend.
The congregation will be held under the aegis of Pankhraj Saheb Kartik Oraon Adivasi Shakti - Swayatshasi Vishwavidyalaya Nirmal Samiti (PSKO ASSVNS).
"Over 1,000 cultural groups from three states representing local tribal and other communities are expected to take part," said former Gumla MLA Shiv Shankar Oraon, who is the chief convenor of PSKO ASSVNS. "The objective is to preserve, enrich, and strengthen the social-cultural aspects of both tribals and non-tribal communities,” he said.
