Ranchi: Police on Tuesday night arrested four men for allegedly trying to rob a bus driver at gunpoint near Argora Chowk here.
SP (city) Paras Rana said on Wednesday that Kundan Kumar Soni, Abhijit Kumar and Nitin Pandey, all aged between 22 and 30 years, were held for attempting to rob the driver, while Golu Ram was arrested for allegedly supplying arms and ammunition used in the crime. Police seized a country-made pistol and an empty cartridge.
Police said the bus had stopped at the no-entry point near Argora Chowk when the three accused boarded it. Soon after, Soni allegedly pointed a gun at the driver and demanded money. He also fired at the driver, who escaped unhurt.
A patrolling team and traffic police stationed at Argora crossing rushed to the spot and caught Soni with the weapon. Overnight searches led to the arrest of Kumar, Pandey and Ram from different locations.
