Shopkeeper molests girl, arrested

Pune: Faraskhana police have arrested a shopkeeper (49) on charges of molesting a 10-year-old girl residing in his neighbourhood at Ganeshnagar after offering her a chocolate on Thursday afternoon.Deputy commissioner of police (zone I) Krushikesh Rawale said, "The girl ran from the shop as soon as he molested her. She then narrated the incident to her grandmother, who then called up the police."Senior inspector Prashant Bhasme of Faraskhana police said, "The girl came to Ganesh Peth, a few days ago, where her grandmother stays. The girl stays with her parents in Khadakwasla."According to the police, the shopkeeper offered her a chocolate when she was walking in front of the shop. As soon as the girl went close to him, he pulled her close to him and hugged her. Bhasme said, "However, the girl, who knows about good and bad touch, ran away from the spot and saved her." Raising awareness about such behavious among kids is the key, he said.
