The initial rollout will include 12 stations from Maan to Balewadi on the Hinjewadi side. This partial operational stretch is expected to ease travel for commuters in these areas.

Officials confirmed that trial runs across the entire Hinjewadi to Shivajinagar stretch have already been successfully completed, marking a key step toward operational readiness of the Metro line.

Work is still ongoing on the remaining 11 stations near Shivajinagar. Officials expect these stations to be completed by October, with some delays linked to technical issues in select areas.

The initial phase is expected to benefit commuters in areas like Balewadi. However, full advantages of the Metro line will be realised only after the Shivajinagar stretch becomes operational.

Authorities attributed construction delays to technical issues at around four stations located in Baner and Shivajinagar areas, which has slowed down full corridor completion.

Commuters, including IT professionals, expressed that while partial opening is welcome, the complete benefit will come only when the full Hinjewadi to Shivajinagar corridor is operational.
